The Fire Column
Cricket Forge has partnered with artist Justin Campbell to create a more robust, refined version of his wildly popular Fire Column design. The striking combination of Justin’s illustrations, originally hand-cut into the shells of old water heaters, generated over 10 million views almost overnight.
The Fire Column
Exclusively from Cricket Forge, the Fire Column is a sculptural centerpiece built to endure both the elements and the years. Available in two original designs, each column is cut from 1/8" steel sheet and anchored by a 3/8" plate base, tray, and legs. The base features a sand-dollar cutout for airflow, rain drainage, and subtle illumination from below. Eight solid steel rivets secure the back seam—adding both strength and soul.
This is functional firecraft—bold, elemental, and unmistakably forged by hand.

Two Cricket Forge owners (Aaron Earley and James Dudley) - and Justin Campbell have been friends and close artistic colleagues for many years. They met while completing East Carolina University’s sculpture program, and have all continued as prominent members of the NC sculpture community. Justin’s many worldly interests translate well into his interdisciplinary art practices, and when he isn’t diligently working in his studio in Wilmington he is traveling the world looking for inspirations that inform his creative work. When Justin wanted to make his original hand-cut fire column available to buy, he knew it was time to collaborate with his friends at Cricket Forge.
