The Moon and Spoon
One of our newest freestanding sculptures, The Moon and Spoon brings the night sky down to ground level. Hole patterns reference the Big and Little Dipper constellations—long known as the “big and little spoons”—while the oxidized steel body and flame-sprayed zinc moon are built to weather beautifully over time.
As the zinc patinas, it mimics the mottled, timeworn surface of the moon—turning each piece into a living, shifting tribute to light, distance, and connection.
Forged from earth. Inspired by the stars. Built to last a lifetime.
Handcrafted, Built to Last
Forged in Durham, NC nearly 30 years ago, we’re still doing things the way they should be done: handcrafted, built to last. We don't just crank stuff out; we put our sweat and skill into every piece we make. Crafting products that withstand the demand of salt, wind, and sun, and other forces of nature like rogue squirrels and toddlers with melting ice cream cones.
Why "Cricket Forge"?
Many cultures view the presence of a cricket in the household as a symbol of good luck, where the cricket is the bearer of wealth, companionship, and happiness. The “Cricket on the hearth” scenario is usually experienced in colder months, where crickets often seek warmth indoors, sometimes on or near a fireplace. The “Forge,” aspect is in reference to the crickets that tend to hang around the recently-used blacksmith forges in the Cricket Forge shop.
